Shared Tools provides platforms for development, security, operations (DevSecOps), and project management.

The service manages an on-premise GitLab instance (git.doit.wisc.edu) for UW–‍Madison under a GitLab for Campuses license. There are currently 6,000+ active users among campus staff, faculty, and students.

GitLab supports a wide variety of clients, provides maximum flexibility in configuration, and offers many features. The ultimate tier features are included in the license. Some features may not be enabled yet.
