IT pre-college outreach

IT Pre-College Outreach, in alignment with the UW–‍Madison’s “Inclusive Excellence” diversity initiative, provides an innovative, pre-college Information Technology Academy (ITA) to diverse high school students with the ultimate goal of increasing UW–‍Madison recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation rates at UW–‍Madison. We have programs serving the Lac du Flambeau, Madison, and Oneida communities.

ITA needs the involvement of departments, faculty and staff to place pre-college students where they can receive hands-on training, mentoring, leadership development, community service, and internship opportunities.

What we do

• Provide several years of intensive training for high-tech, IT-related careers
• Prepare high school students for competitive university admissions and study
• Work with students through hands-on training, mentoring, leadership development, community service, and internship opportunities
